Protecting Your Skin at the Beach or Pool

Beach days and pool time are some of the best parts of summer, but if you're living with Lymphedema, taking extra care of your skin is an important part of staying healthy.

Your skin acts as a protective barrier and keeping it healthy may help reduce the risk of irritation or complications.

Before heading out, remember to:

~ Apply and reapply sunscreen regularly

~ Stay hydrated throughout the day

~ Take breaks in shaded areas when possible

~ Protect your skin from cuts, scrapes, and bug bites

~ Rinse off chlorine or salt water and moisturize afterward

Summer fun and skin protection can go hand in hand. A little extra care can help keep you feeling your best while enjoying the sunshine.
